How to? Need help ladies!

Alright ladies get your creative wheels a spinnin' I need some tips!

I am wanting to make these cute little hay stacks as part of the center piece for our Western themed Engagement party, here's what I'm thinking:

* I can buy the hay stacks at Hobby Lobby, or even in 6 packs online at various places

*I can print the hearts on tan card stock on my Cricut Expression and then maybe just write the J + B with brown fine marker

*Punch mini holes in the sides with some scrapbook tools I already have and then tie it around the hay stack with floral wire (thank Catherine)

So what do you think? Any better ideas? I like the burnt/rustic look if you have any idea how to do that, but I'm willing to not have that look and not pay 29.99 for this on ETSY

Thanks in advance ladies, many more DIY project ideas to come!

I think that is a great idea, and you should run with it. Also, when I was reading it, you should put some rustic looking lanterns with candles in it around the room with some more hay just laying around it. (maybe the gift table, the food table, etc.)

I am sure it will turn out great!!

I love them and think it will turn out great! To get the rustic look you could do a whitewash kind of thing and water down some brown paint and then put it on the hearts. If it is still too dark than dab it off with a tissue. Hope that helps!

You could maybe put the paper in the oven to make it look a little more rustic. I used to do this a lot for projects and things to make paper look worn. I think you just put a little oil on in and broil it in the oven for just a minute or so, keeping a very close eye on it! ;)

So cute!! It might add some color if you mixed in sun flowers some how, maybe on top or on the sides of the center pieces. Good luck!
