So my mom is not big on reading.. Over the past 2 years she has read 2 books, she gets really into reading for like 3 days and then doesn't touch the book again for like a month..
These were her 2 readings:
I want to get her a new book to read for when she is at the river and were (Brian and I) not there and since my dad stays outside and works all day...
From what I gather: She likes inspirational books and books that are based on true stories also she has to be kept on edge and interested!
Any thoughts on books for my mom?

Karen Kingsbury's books are great inspirational books! Her Redemption series is great, and so are a few of her stand-alone books. You might try one of those!
Eat, Pray, Love! It's inspirational, easy to read, and being made into a movie, staring Julia Roberts - I always look forward to seeing a movie after I have read the book :)
The new(-ish) Laura Bush autobiography? It's based on a true story! ;o) Definitely inspirational.
I read a book called Same Kind of Different As Me. It is based on a true story about a rich man and a homeless man from fort worth who come into each others lives. It is sort of slow at the beginning, but she will be bawling in the end, great moral and lesson learned...
I agree with Jamie. Same Kind of Different as Me is a book you cannot put down. The Shack is very slow to start, so I can see how that would have worn on her.
