LOVE is in the air, Still after so long...

How many couples these days can say they've been married 34 years? My Parents CAN!!!

Happy 34th Anniversary to the most wonderful people in the world!!

Also Happy Anniversary to Megan's wonderful parents who I Love so much as well!

Here's to many more years together!
Can't wait to plan the 50th parties!

P.S. My friend Rachael decided on blue and yellow as her colors for her wedding.. Let me know if you have any thoughts or ideas with using these colors?
I was thinking a blue martini with a lemon peel
and
flower girl in yellow dress with blue bow

Football Time...

First things first UH won baby! Not trying to rub it in to the Tech fans who read my blog, just so so excited for the Coogs!
Second, not a successful weekend it was supposed to be... Been in bed sick since Wed. so did not make it to the fair Fri night for Stoney La Rue not did I even make it to the Uh vs Tech game that I had been so hyped up about and had gone through so much work to purchase a tailgate pass.
Third, The Tailgate Shower was a great success.. I rested up for days before felt great the first part I was there, after sweating, moving around so much, being on my feet, I started to feel so light headed, went to the bathroom vomited, around 4 started to clean up and headed home and been in bed since :( I tried not to let anyone know I was not feeling well, except Brian and my mom who were a HUGE help setting up and taking down with me and the other host. Here are a few pics to preview..

Darren is a Cowboys fan and Lindsey is a Tech fan...

Once again, Tech's colors and kinda Cowboys colors along with the cookies and then on the football their last name (minus a N) and 14(the date of their wedding)

The cookies were a great success, thanks for the recommendation Cara

Directions to the game for out of towners and the drink tickets!

Lucky's Pub, Great idea Sarah

Lindsey and Darren with host, minus Megan

My beautiful "sister" and her soon to be Hubby!

I think the shower turned out great, as well as the other hosts and I think Lindsey really enjoyed it. She has a lot of great friends who came and Darren thanked me several times for doing this for them, so sweet!

On that note.. On to some homework.. Prob blog again later.. ha!

I wish...

It's Wishful Wednesday according to Miss Kelsey over at The Seattle Smith's
I just recently started following her blog and I LOVE LOVE her and her blog, ha!

'I wish' .... I got paid $1 million a year to
be a Teacher!

I absolutely love what I do now and what I plan to do for the rest of my life. Just WISH we made a little more $$, not even a million, I'd be fine with even 50,000 (haha) jk

Nothing better in the world to me than touching a child's life!

Did you know: That being a teacher is the only profession in the world that projects other professions.....
Think about that one!

DIY.. Or should I say DI (boyfriend) or (dad)

Does this desk look familiar to anyone?
When I was younger my FAVORITE thing to do was play "teacher," my Maw-Maw bought me a desk very similar to this one...

Lately I have been wanting to get one for my future classroom or daughter...
I started looking on ebay saw them ranging from $75-$200 PLUS shipping.. No way I was paying that much.

Found one on Craigslist from a woman in Woodlands for 30 bucks!

Now just need a Male to sand it, re paint, and re finish it...

Any thoughts or ideas of things I can do with the desk?

I saw one that was painted red and black... But I think I want to keep the original brown stain look

Weekend Re-Cap!

Not going into detail on my whole weekend.. But I had several options and fun things I was debating between doing, one being going to the Lake House with the couple that just got engaged, I was torn and decided to stay in town...

And I'm glad I did!

This past Saturday was my Auntie Cousin Joy's (dad's cousin) Birthday, I knew I needed to be there and would regret not going. I have always been the daughter she's never had.
Well she was diagnosed with ALS a couple months ago and has gone down tremendously since...
On Saturday her son told me she would probably only be talking about 2 more weeks.
Needless to say, Glad I stayed in town for the Birthday Party :)

Always a Bridesmaid...

I'm honored to say once again "I'm a Bridesmaid"
Tonight a couple that I love to death, Sean and Rachael got engaged at a Winery in Wimberley!
Some might say It's weird for me to be one of Rach's Bridesmaids cause yes we have not known each other that long, but we have a special bond. She is one of the few people I talk to on a daily basis, rather it be on FB Messenger, Text, or on the phone, we talk everyday!

Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Cherry to be!

I look forward to us getting closer and planning Rachael's Special Day!!

Ladies Go Texan

I'm proud to announce that I got extended a bid/asked to join Ladies Go Texan committee this week! I have been stalking this committee for a couple years now. Last year was my first year on a committee and I did "Facility Services" as much as I enjoyed working with all the wonderful people, I think Ladies Go Texan is more up my alley. On my committee last year we were in charge of the Horse Arena and making sure all the "hired" workers were doing their jobs. I appreciate "Facility Services" for taking on a first year committee member but feel this new committee will be perfect for me. Here's a brief description of the committee.
Ladies' Go Texan
Members serve as Show ambassadors through special public relations efforts in the corporate sponsor suite and in several educational exhibits throughout the Show grounds. This committee also assists in community promotional activities by coordinating and arranging for the distribution of promotional material to area schools for Go Texan days and through style shows.

Does that not sound perfect for me? I'm so so excited! The first meeting was last night but since it was short notice for me, I couldn't make it.
I get to order my official "Red" vest for when I work next year! Off to do that!

More to blog later......

One of my oh so sweet and creative friends, Meredith came up with a brilliant idea to do a scarf swap for the upcoming season. Make sure to check out her blog and leave her a comment with your name and email address if you want to play along..

Shopping in Your closet.. Scarves!

I'm so excited to finally participate in one of Mer's "shopping in your closets" I don't have children therefore I have not been able to do the childrens clothes nor have I worn maternity clothes.
There's a slight problem though, I think I own ONE scarf and I don't even think I have that anymore.. So instead of showing you my FaV scarves, I'm going to show you the scarves I'd love to have this season. Danielle is going to help me complete this wish by shopping with me Wednesday @ Ya Ya Club and a few other boutiques that have great prices and great pieces!

I'm dying to find Kelsey's pink burberry scarf over at The Seattle Smith's

LOVE me some Roxy!

Ok now I might actually really be able to get this one, cheap @ Old Navy!

This one is also in my budget, only 15 bucks from Francesca's and comes in several colors!

I'd love to find a cute red and white scarf to wear to the UH football games this winter.... Let me know if you run across any!

Can't wait for Mer's next "Shopping in YOUR closet"

Thursday Thoughts!! Happy Birthday Meg!

I am at school so I do not have my cute little Thur Thoughts pic saved...
*25 years ago today, a beautiful baby was born who has grown into a smart and beautiful woman!Happy Birthday Megan! One of the best friends I could of ever asked for, Thanks to Danielle, our other Best Friend for introducing us :)
*9/11 I will never forget where I was and who I was talking to the moment I heard about the Towers.. I have had the personal experience of going and viewing Ground Zero the summer after it happened. What a life experience. I continue to wear my NYFD or NYPD shirt every year on 9/11. God Bless our Troops, and all the families affected by 9/11.
God Bless America
*Is it really already Thur? This 4 days week has flown by! Another week of my crazy semester down the tube :)
*Excited for the weekend, Megan's dinner, Lindsey's shower, and hopefully hanging out with Rachael and Sean, Church event on Sunday (Its western theme, I get to wear my boots :))
*I've lost a couple more pounds! :)
*Mom and I had some deep heart to heart last night, some stuff I've been holding back for a couple years, man it feels good to get that out of the way!
*What's in for fall? Besides plaid... I'm confused! ha!
*Check out this AMAZING bouquet toss...
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Stay dry!
Feel free to leave a comment!!!

Oh and how do I get more "followers"....:(

Navy Blue.....?

In reagards to my last post, I tried the first dress on @ Francesca's.. Not as cute as in the pic!
So I went home and ordered this one from Nordstrom, Its amazing how much stuff they have online that is not in the store, but if you don't like it you can go exchange it in the store and not have to ship it back, great Customer Service!
Don't know what I'm wearing this for, I'm thinking my God Sister's shower, but I need to see what she is wearing first.. Just thought it was too cute for the fall, especially since I'm loosing weight, I can't wait to wear it!

Now the BIG question is, are leggings in this fall? I've seen them at a lot of places but just don't know... So shall I wear navy blue leggings (pictures below) under neath or navy blue panty hose which is what she has on in the pic above?
